Knowledgeable about the coastal environment and marine habitats, our professional divers collect marine resources. The diving department is also involved in the launching and maintenance of observation buoys and numerous oceanographic instruments.

The Institut de la Mer and its supervisory bodies are actively involved in the French Year of the Sea and UNOC’3. As at the One Ocean Science Congress, they will take part in scientific exchanges and associated events.
The « Sciences-sur-Mer » Festival (7–13 June, Villefranche-sur-Mer) will strengthen the link between science and society by offering opportunities for dialogue among stakeholders and welcoming both the general public and schoolchildren.
