The Center for Planktonic Collections Of Villefranche (CCPv) holds almost 30,000 plankton samples collected worldwide during numerous scientific projects and oceanographic missions. The in-house barcode management system ensures traceability of samples and associated metadata.

The Institut de la Mer and its supervisory bodies are actively involved in the French Year of the Sea and UNOC’3. As at the One Ocean Science Congress, they will take part in scientific exchanges and associated events.
The « Sciences-sur-Mer » Festival (7–13 June, Villefranche-sur-Mer) will strengthen the link between science and society by offering opportunities for dialogue among stakeholders and welcoming both the general public and schoolchildren.
