Real Estate and Building Maintenance (PIML)

The Villefranche-sur-Mer site is a remote campus of Sorbonne University.

The real estate unit, run by the PIML department, is responsible for the on-site management of buildings, grounds and technical equipment. This includes maintenance of the buildings (e.g. renovation, monitoring of construction work, space planning) and of the technical installations (electricity, heating, seawater pumping and distribution). This on-site management also involves acting as the local relay for Sorbonne University’s Real Estate and Logistics Department (DPL) in overseeing large-scale, complex works programs (State–Region “Avenir” Contract, the national Recovery Plan, etc.).

The Institut de la Mer comprises five buildings, three of which date from the 18th century and are part of the remarkable historic ensemble of the Darse de Villefranche.

The complex covers just over 10,000 m² of floor space, surrounded by some 10,000 m² of undeveloped land.
